A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident caused the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
