Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, fiends, and dark forces expanding in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of characters who will split off from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the actions of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—used the foes for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the region and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the party reach locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to form the Seekers and Planners tables.
Fans can look forward to learning which characters will be where in the season’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
